There is no denying that the venture capital industry is red hot right now. When you open up websites like Forbes, Techcrunch, and Business Insider, it is almost impossible to miss all of the news about the biggest deals in Silicon Valley being made by these firms.
As a matter of fact, without the work of venture capitalists, there wouldn’t be Silicon Valley. Companies today are very high-paced and fast-moving. Founders simply cannot afford to wait around until they save up enough money or build credit to fund their operations. The best path for a lot of these founders to take is to simply give up some of their equity to VCs in exchange for capital.
To those who are unfamiliar with the industry, here are some of the biggest venture capital firms in the world.
1. Khosla Ventures
Khosla Ventures is one of the most recognizable venture capital firms in Silicon Valley not only because of its great deals, but because the founder of the firm is Vinod Khosla, one of the men behind Sun Microsystems.
Based out of Menlo Park, California, Khosla Ventures has enjoyed a 13.58% return on investment in 2020 alone despite the pandemic.
2. Sequoia Capital
