Dortmund have ‘promised to talk to the police’ to prevent a similar circumstance happening in the future as they claim the actions of their fans will not be ‘tolerated.’

Dortmund have also apologised for the fact their players celebrated with the fans – without leaving the bus – and posted the content on social media.
The club released a statement which read: ‘With all the understandable joy of winning the derby, there were public violations of the Coronavirus rules during the team’s return to the training ground last night, which will not be tolerated.
‘Around 150-200 fans cheered the team outside the training ground, some of whom were not wearing masks and observing social distancing guidelines. Players celebrated with the fans – without leaving the bus – and in the exuberance, some even filmed it.
‘We can only apologise and promise to talk to the police and all those involved very soon about how such scenes can be completely ruled out in public in future.’

The Dortmund players were also filmed singing and cheering from inside the team bus too
The video which was originally posted to Mahmoud Dahoud’s social media account showed hundreds of fans gathering outside of the club’s training ground on Saturday night.
Supporters were seen dancing the street, releasing flares and waving flags as the team bus returned home from the derby.
The fans failed to maintain any form of social distancing as the huddled together to chant and sing in front of the bus.
The Dortmund players – including Dahoud – were filmed cheering their fans on from inside the bus.
The incident took place after Borussia Dortmund crushed Schalke 4-0 in their Ruhr Valley derby on Saturday, with two goals from Erling Haaland.
The result saw the club earn their first win in three league matches and gain a sense of confidence in their battle for a top-four finish.
