Ever wondered what the trophy room of arguably the greatest tennis player of all time looks like? Us too. Luckily, Serena Williams has just offered up a look inside her new Miami mansion.
Williams has won 23 grand slam singles titles, as well as 14 grand slam doubles titles alongside superstar sister Venus, and two grand slam mixed doubles titles. Not satisfied with that ridiculous haul, she also has four Olympic gold medals. Little wonder she can’t fit them all in one room!
In a piece for Architectural Digest, Williams said her and sister Venus – who owns design company V Starr – worked together for three years on the mansion. It features a see-through grand piano, an ‘art gallery’ instead of a formal living room, and – surprisingly – no tennis court.

The trophy room displays a bunch of trophies from throughout her career, though Serena hilariously muddled up facts about a few of them.
“I am so bad with trophies,” Williams laughed. “This is Roland Garros, the French Open. Clearly I don’t have a lot of those … I only have two or three. I don’t even remember. Two? Three? Three!”

Besides her trophies and medals, it also features: “some really cool pieces that mean a lot to me – (a) Wheaties box.”
Actually, more than one: there’s a handful of last year’s limited-edition cereal boxes in the room. It might seem a little surprising, but she said at the time that the honour was a big deal to her.
“I have dreamt of this since I was a young woman and it’s an honour to join the ranks of some of America’s most decorated athletes,” she said. “I hope my image on this iconic orange box will inspire the next generation of girls and athletes to dream big.”
But there was one moment in her tour of the trophy room that proved why she’s one of the all-time greats.
Looking at a line of trophies, she said: “Yeah I see a second place trophy, but I’m gonna put that one in the trash. It shouldn’t be in there.
“We don’t keep second place.”
